Carrie Kramar - Artistic Director
Carrie is a young energetic dancer / teacher/ choreographer who has taken 14+ years of dance lessons in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary/modern, hip-hop & acro/gymnastics.
She has taught dance since the age of 14 at two community centers, 4 studios in the area and her own high school dance team along as a feature soloist at half time shows. She has won numerous titles thru out her career including “Top Lyrical Soloist” and 2nd overall at National Dance Conventions as well as an “All Star Dancer”, “Super Soloist” at Nationals and Elite State of Tennessee State Dance Champion and recently Tennessee State Dance Championships Highest Level . Numerous Choreography awards. She has placed within the top four at each National Convention attending after winning regional honors as Top Soloist. She has been a part of duo’s and trio’s which have won many dance titles as well. She was Mid-South Teen & Junior Miss Dance for Dance Masters of America. She has won Scholarships to LA & NYC & Washington DC where she trained during various summers. She has trained in Nashville, Huntsville, Atlanta, Birmingham & Greenville SC plus many other dance venues thru-out her career. Plus she has taken private lessons from well known teachers in the dance world. Even as a teen Carrie was winning Choreography Awards for dances she choreographed and danced as a soloist. This is just a small portion of her accomplishments but what Carrie’s main goal is to offer the best dance education to her students, to aspire her students to pursue their dreams, to realize that they can obtain anything with hard work and perseverance. She believes a positive atmosphere and reinforcement for her students helps nurture them into aspiring dancers who grow to love the ever-evolving art of dance and will grow to share her passion in this art form.
David Pendergrass - Tumbling Instructor - David has worked at several local Gymnastic Studios. He brings an expertise to our studio. He has taught tumbling, boys gymnastics, a ministry gymnastic team. He has traveled all over the southeast doing gymnastic seminars at various gyms.
Heather Pendergrass - Cheer and pom dance team - Heather has been a competitive cheerleader and has taught competitive cheerleading at several well know gyms.
Alexis Zairkowski - Contemporary/ Modern, Senior & Junior Ballet (Russian), & will
help with Junior & Senior Company. - Alexis has studied at various studios training for 12 years. She just completed her degree from Lee University. She has taught at various studios in the area. She is founder and choreographer/director for the Lee University Unity Dance Troupe. She started the troupe at Lee at the age of 16. Their latest show "The Veil" had 66 cast members. Alexis is excited for the opportunity to dance with Momentum Academy Dance. To express the vital technical aspects of dance as well as the power of passion and heart.
Stephanie Levengood - Mini Classes - Stephanie began dancing at the age of 6 when her parents took her to a local dance recital in her hometown. When asked if she wanted to sign up for dance her response was, “Yeah, I might like that.” Little did she know just how much she would grow to love all forms of dance! She spent most of her dancing career with Dayton Christian Ballet and taught ballet and tap classes there as well as choreographed for the annual recitals. During her two years at Bryan College, Stephanie co-lead the Advanced Stage Movement club and taught jazz, ballet, and lyrical and choreographed for chapel performances. She also performed in Bryan College’s production of the Broadway musical “Curtains.” Stephanie now attends Lee University where she studies Elementary Education and dances with Unity Dance Troupe. She has also performed with Chattanooga Ballet in their production of “Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker.” She most recently performed with Unity Dance Troupe in their production of “The Veil: Created For Glory.” Stephanie has a heart for dance and even at the age of 22, she desires to learn and grow everyday and wants to help her students discover and share her love for dance. She believes that each child regardless of size, shape, or where they come from, has the ability to come alive on the dance floor. She believes that with a little hard work and perseverance, everyone can excel in any form of dance.
Abby Ramsey Turner - Down Right Special Class, Creative Dance & Petite Company Abby started dancing at the age of 3 and continued her dancing career at Austin Peay State University where she majored in Dance. She has trained at various studios thru out her career. Abby just recently moved back to Cleveland with her husband Chris and their son. Abby will be possibly be teaching various other classes thru out the year as needed to ad to our schedule. She is looking forward to working at MAD and bring the joy of dance to her students!!!
